Map'Opt

Map'Opt is a modelling tool permitting to predict food safety in Modified Atmosphere Packaging of fresh non respiring food product. Thanks to associated database gathering more than 100 materials properties, the user could choose his/her packaging (nature of the tray + lid film), type of food and microorganism to analyse. The software computes evolution of O2 and CO2 concentrations in the food / packaging system and related microbial growth on the food surface. Respiration of microorganisms could also be considered.

Outputs of the software :

  • Evolution as a function of time of O2 and CO2 concentrations in headspace,
  • Microbial growth in or on the food surface, dependent on the gas composition in the system
This software could help to :
  • Analyse microbial growth & predict food safety
  • Help to identify the suitable modified atmosphere and packaging material for a given application
